House Calls for Dog Behavior & Training Problems
Dog behavior consultations and dog training are available in your home in Siskiyou County, California, and Ashland, Oregon.
As a behavior consultant I will teach you how best to work with your dog to get the behavior you'd like, and how to change the behavior you don't like. I welcome the simplest to the most complex behavioral challenges, from house-training to aggressive behavior, from rambunctious behavior to destructiveness, to separation anxiety. Fearful dogs, whether they act aggressively, or hide and cower, or both, can benefit from a behavioral consultation, as can dogs who simply don't come when called. Repetitive behaviors such as excessive licking or spinning are also addressed. Each consultation is individually tailored to your unique situation.
Please call me so we can help both you and your dog live together more harmoniously!
Scheduling
Dog Behavior Consultation- Scheduled for 1 to 3 hours, depending on the complexity of your case. I will have the opportunity to assess your dog's behavior in your home both by observing the dog and also talking with you in order to understand the problematic behavior in detail. We will discuss a behavior modification program, which will be mailed to you after our consultation, if needed. Relevant handouts will be provided.
Training Problem Session - Scheduled for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. This session is geared strictly toward training without involving assessment or behavior modification programs. For example, if your dog does not come to you, we will work on teaching you to get your dog to come. If your dog bolts out the door, we will work on this. If your dog does not walk well on leash, or your dog is not learning basic housetraining, I will teach you the needed skills to get the behavior you need from your dog. Dogs and Folks handouts are provided. Puppy Basics, Adolescent and Adult Dog Basics - Scheduled for 1 or 1 1/2 hours. In this session we will discuss how to raise and train a good puppy, and any questions you have will be addressed. Handouts are provided.
Follow-up sessions - 1 hour (or as needed).
I will determine if your problem is a behavior or training problem.
